What did you take away from The Trans-Amazon Expedition? printer.gif

Phew! It's good to be home, but we already miss the rhythm of our paddles, the sounds of the rainforest, and meeting new people. We certainly learned a lot about the animals and plants of the rainforest. We learned about new cultures and lifestyles. And we spent time thinking about ways to make this a better world.

But, we want to find out what you learned from the expedition! What did you learn about the Amazon? Did you learn about a new culture or country? Did we inspire you to get outside and explore new places? What will you take away from The Trans-Amazon Expedition?

Is there anything that you will change about your lifestyle or habits to be more environmentally-friendly? What are you doing to make our planet better?

Mckenna

i learned about the animals and that approxately 50% of earths plants and animals reside in the worlds tropical rainforest.i also learned that the boa constritor is a south americas most largest snake and it can grow up to over ten feet.and i remeber when you were trying to find a new comunity.have a nice day

You inspired me to get outside and explore. The way you guys were always on the move and always seeing things that we people here at home could never see made me wantto be part of the team. From the trans-amazon expidition I will take the knowledge you gave me of the outdoors and the new animals I learned about. The way yo explained the distructon of the rainforest, i believe that one day we may be able to conserve the rainforst and still ahve it so that generations to come can see the beauty that you have seen, thanks to you for explaining global warming and the distructuon of the rainforest.

I have learned many things from your expedition. Like about deforestation and how it is affecting us. I feel so bad about those animals in the cages who will never be returned to the wild. Cattle Ranching is like the main source of de forestation. I als learned that there were only two seasons. The rainy seson and dry season.

Love ya, Anjelica

Hi! I've learned alot from you guys on the amazon and it sounds like fun! But what I've learned was mostly about the animals and food some things i already knew. I think you guys should go somewhere totally different and compare and contrast and maybe learn more.

Why would you want to be back? I would love to be in the Amazon rainforest.

Yes, there are things that I will change to help the enviornment. Instead of watching t.v, I have decided to spend more time outside. I will only spend 2 hours a day on the t.v. or on the computer. I already recycle and have flourcent lightbulbs, so I decided to make one more change.

I have learned many things in the Trans-Amazon Expedition. The most important thing to me would be that our rainforest is being cut down. While our rainforest is being cut down animals lose there homes. not only animals also humans will lose there homes. But the most important to me is that it helps us with our oxygen. Without oxygen we wouldn't survive. So thank you, team, for making me realize this.

I learned many things from this experience. One of the things I learned was that we all contribute to the destruction/protection of the rainforest. I also learned that animals are becoming threatened, endangered, and extinct every day, and if we work together we can save them. I now know and care about the Amazon rainforest more than I ever have before because of the things you have shown us. Also I learned about people and their cultures that I never knew existed. I learned that we can do many things to help; we can use fluorescent light bulbs, eat meat only once a week, and ride a bike places. These are the things I learned from the Trans-Amazon Expedition so thank you for helping me learn about the Amazon and things I can do to save it!

I have learned about many different cultures and their way of life. I wouldn't change my lifestyle that much but, I would try to be more earth friendly. I will try to ride a bike or walk to more places, within walking distances. Lastly I learned how the people of the Amazon survive and what type of food they eat compared to us. I now know many more things about our Amazon rainforest.

The next time keep the same information on the website. We adored the Mystery Photo. The video clips were cool. Many of us are interested in going to the Amazon. We saw that you put a lot of work into the website. It was cool how we were learning about the rainforest at school while you did your trip.

I really want to ride my bike more and not use electricity as much. Also I would like to try to recycle more because I want to make the world a better place by making things reusable
I enjoyed following along with your trip

Yes, I will conserve paper and only use it, when I need it.

Right now, I'm biking to school as much as I can, including when I go in early for school. I am trying to turn off all lights right now also.
