When snow blanketed the far North in 2014, Amy and Dave Freeman hitched up dog teams and headed out to explore the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota. The Boundary Waters is over 1 million acres of road-less wilderness, home to gray wolves, moose, black bear, lynx, otter and a host of other wild creatures.
Their expedition covered a variety of topics including weather, geology and erosion, watersheds, predator-prey relationships, wolves, the night sky, the physics of dogsledding, Ojibwa culture, Expedition ABC’s, and much more.
