This is a tree frog. Many species of tree frogs live in the Amazon rainforest. Some species of tree frogs are like chameleons. They change colors to camouflage into their surroundings. During the day they are lighter and at night they are darker to avoid potential predators. Most tree frogs live on land, hopping around among the shrubs and leaves. Some live in burrows under the ground and others live part of their lives in the water. Most tree frogs are nocturnal, meaning that they sleep during the day and forage for food at night. What other animals do you know that are nocturnal? Tree frogs have sticky discs on the bottom of their feet that allow them to stick to branches.
