Ocean Exploration Virtual School Assembly

A humpback whale surfaces. Humpback whales are one of the animals we highlight in our oceans virtual school assemblies.

Our Ocean Exploration Virtual School Assembly focuses on a wide range of animals we have encountered on our far-ranging expeditions. From HUGE humpback whales to the tiny krill they eat, students learn about a wide range of fascinating sea creatures and their habitats. We explore coral reefs, mangrove swamps, and the open ocean during this fast-paced, fun, and interactive virtual program.

Stunning images and riveting tales of animal encounters and exploration bring the world’s oceans to life, igniting students’ interest in science, nature, and exploration. Students also learn why oceans are important and how they can help keep them clean.

Throughout the Ocean Virtual School Assembly students are fully engaged and immersed– from helping determine the size of humpback whales and giant squid, to sharing things they can do to protect our oceans. During the entire program students are encouraged to ask questions through a moderated Q and A.

Plus, students learn about the deepest parts of the world’s oceans and some of the mysterious creatures that scientists are discovering thousands of feet below the surface. The deep sea is one of the last great unknowns and a great way to spark students’ interest in science and exploration.
